  • Never reuse a daily lens, even after just a few hours
Bi-Weekly

2-Week Lenses

Replace: Every 2 Weeks
  • Wear daily, clean and store each night in fresh solution
  • Open a new pair on the same day every 2 weeks
  • Track your start date — deposit buildup affects comfort over time
  • Do not extend wear beyond 2 weeks even if they feel fine
Monthly

30-Day Lenses

Replace: Every 30 Days
  • Wear daily, clean thoroughly each night — deposits build up over a full month
  • Most economical option per lens, but requires the most diligent care
  • Replace on schedule — overworn monthly lenses are a leading cause of infections

Inserting Your Lenses

Same for all types
  • 1Wash & dry hands thoroughly before handling lenses.
  • 2Place the lens on your index fingertip, concave (bowl) side up. Check it isn’t inside-out — edges should point upward (like a taco), not flare outward.
  • 3Hold your lids open, look straight ahead, and place the lens centered on your cornea. Blink gently to seat it.
  • 4Always insert the same lens first to avoid mixing up right and left.

Removing Your Lenses

Same for all types
  • 1Wash & dry hands before touching your eyes or lenses.
  • 2Look up, pull down your lower lid, and slide the lens down to the white of your eye.
  • 3Gently pinch the lens between your thumb and index finger and lift it out.
  • 4Remove the same lens first every time. Then clean or discard, depending on your lens type.

Cleaning & Storing

Varies by lens type
  • 1Never top off solution in your case — empty, rinse with fresh solution, and air-dry each morning.
  • 2Replace your case every 3 months, or whenever you start a new bottle.
1-DayDiscard lens after each wear. No cleaning or case needed.
2-WeekRub lens with multipurpose solution for 20 seconds per side, rinse, store overnight. During allergy season, ClearCare gives a deeper clean — full 6-hour soak required.

SolutionMultipurpose solution (Biotrue, Opti-Free, ReNu) — cleans, rinses, disinfects, and stores 2-week and monthly lenses. Available at any pharmacy.
AltClearCare hydrogen peroxide system — deeper disinfection. Requires full 6-hour neutralization.
ReliefPreservative-free rewetting drops for mid-day dryness. Ask us for a recommendation.
CaseLens case for 2-week/monthly lenses. Replace every 3 months. Never use tap water.

Important Warnings & Tips

🚫Never sleep in your lenses unless prescribed extended-wear. Overnight wear dramatically increases infection risk.
💧No water contact — remove lenses before swimming, showering, or hot tubs.
⏱Replace on schedule — overwearing lenses is a leading cause of infections.
🔴Never share lenses — contact lenses are a prescription medical device.
📞Redness, pain, or sudden blur — remove lenses immediately and call our office.
